"why r u looking at me?"

directed, written, filmed, and edited by: Mackenzie Tamar Sutton

"why r u looking at me?" was a short horror experimental film created for my Georgia State University production class during the Spring 24' semester.

Because this is an experimental film, interpretation is up to you, so have fun with it!

But for me, this film is an abstract take on the fear of having eyes on you.

Personal Project - Trailer for Clue (1985)

This class project involved creating a trailer for the iconic 1985 film Clue. As a personal, non-copyrighted project, I reimagined the film’s marketing by focusing on its suspenseful atmosphere and dark comedy. The goal was to capture the essence of Clue while appealing to modern audiences, using creative editing and sound design to enhance its playful yet thrilling tone. This project allowed me to experiment with trailer conventions and showcase my ability to highlight a film's key elements through a concise promotional piece.

Script Sample - "Family Secrets"

This script sample is from Family Secrets, an original work by me, Mackenzie Sutton. The story follows Felix, a young man who is nervously visiting his girlfriend Juliette’s family for the first time. What starts as an ordinary evening soon takes a dark turn as Felix begins to sense that something isn’t quite right. In what appears to be a unique retro-styled home, he uncovers a horrifying secret lurking beneath the surface. Through vivid descriptions and character-driven tension, this sample showcases my ability to build suspense, develop unsettling character dynamics, and put together a chilling atmosphere. It captures the moment when the facade begins to crack, setting the stage for the chilling horror that’s about to unfold.

Script Sample - "Angels & Devils"

This original script sample, titled "Angels & Devils," is an original psychological drama written by me, Mackenzie Sutton. It delves into the complex mind of Eva St. James, a dedicated psychologist who uncovers unsettling connections between her new case and her past. The scene captures Eva's quiet, introspective evening, which takes a dramatic turn when she is assigned to the case of Ezra West, a young man convicted of murdering a police officer. The script blends imagery with a haunting flashback to build tension and draw the viewer into Eva’s psychological turmoil. By contrasting quiet, everyday moments with deep emotional conflict, this sample showcases my ability to craft suspense and develop complex characters. The atmosphere feels both unsettling and interesting, pulling the audience into Eva’s internal struggle. As the story unfolds, we see how her personal demons begin to resurface, forcing her to confront the dark secrets she’s been trying to bury.
